Packers Team News
Injuries have been a big issue for Green Bay early this season. Matt LaFleur’s team were without star LT David Bakhtiari (knee), talented young receiver Christian Watson (hamstring), star RB Aaron Jones (hamstring) and star CB Jaire Alexander (back) last week against the Saints.
Despite those absences, Green Bay were still able to mount a 4th quarter comeback to advance to 2-1 on the season.
Christian Watson is trending towards playing after participating in Tuesday practice in a limited fashion and also saying ‘That’s the plan.’ when asked about playing on Thursday night.
Based on the reports from Green Bay it also sounds like Aaron Jones will be ready to go for Thursday night’s game. In fact, WR Romeo Doubs went as far as to say that Jones will be playing against the Lions. If Jones and Watson return it would be a massive boost for the Packers offense in a big early season divisional game.
On the defensive side of the ball, star CB Jaire Alexander is trending in the right direction as he was upgraded from DNP on Monday to Limited Practice on Tuesday on the injury report.

The Lions have some injury issues of their own heading into Thursday night’s game.
Based on Head Coach Dan Campbell’s comments it’s likely that RB David Montgomery (thigh) and LT Taylor Decker (ankle) will play. Decker himself also said he is ‘confident’ of suiting up to play on Thursday night.
Starting LG Jonah Jackson (thigh) was listed as limited in the injury report for both Monday and Tuesday which indicates he will likely play Thursday night too.

Packers vs Lions Preview
The Packers’ Form
Record: 2-1
ATS Record: 3-0
Overall the Green Bay Packers will be happy with their record so far in QB Jordan Love’s first year as a starter.
Green Bay’s first game of the season came against the Chicago Bears. Matt LaFleur’s team were impressive in the season opener as they cruised to a 38-20 divisional road win.
Next up was a trip to Atlanta. The Packers led by 12 points going into the 4th quarter but 13 unanswered points from the Falcons saw Green Bay lose in disappointing fashion. It’s worth noting that Atlanta lost to the Lions 20-6 last week, although that game was played in Detroit.
Green Bay’s most recent outing came against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints were up 17-0 heading into the 4th quarter in what was shaping up to be a tough day at the office for Jordan Love and the Packers. Green Bay, thanks in large part to playmaking from their young QB, were able to rally late and secure an 18-17 home victory. The nature of that comeback win will have this team full of confidence going into this primetime game against the Lions at Lambeau.
The Lions’ Form
Record: 2-1
ATS Record: 2-1
The Lions, like the Packers, started this season with two wins and one loss from their opening three games.
Dan Campbell’s team were the consensus favorites in the NFC North ahead of the start of the season and will be keen to prove that they are deserving of that status in Lambeau this Thursday night.
Detroit started their campaign with as tough a matchup as you can get, on the road to the defending Super Bowl Champion Chiefs in the season curtain raiser. Despite not playing their best on offense, the Lions managed to hold on for a surprise 21-20 victory.
They would soon be brought back down to earth however, as the Seahawks marched into town and handed them their first loss of the season the following week with a walk-off TD in overtime.
In week 3 the Atlanta Falcons traveled to Detroit. The Falcons, coming off their comeback win against Green Bay, struggled to get anything going against this Lions defense as Detroit secured a 20-6 win to get their season back on track.
Packers vs Lions Betting Trends

Packers vs Lions Prediction
Prediction: Packers 25 Lions 23
I’m predicting that the Green Bay Packers will come out on top in a close game this Thursday night. I think the return of key players such as RB Aaron Jones, WR Christian Watson and CB Jaire Alexander will swing this game in favor of Green Bay.
